Associate Professor Noel Hayman is Queensland's first Indigenous doctor and Queensland's Australian of the Year for 2011. A graduate of UQ School of Medicine and now director of Inala Indigenous Health Service, Associate Professor Noel Hayman was recognised for his work in Indigenous health and his mission to improve the life expectancy of Indigenous Australians. Dr Hayman is the clinical director of the Inala Indigenous Health Service, which he started in 1995. As a Wakka Wakka and Kalkadoon man, he was one of the first two Indigenous medical students to graduate from The University of Queensland in 1990.
