A presentation by Prof Peter Soyer, Inaugural Chair in Dermatology at UQ and Director of the Dermatology Research Centre, and Dr Liam Caffery, Senior Research Fellow, Centre for Health Services Research, UQ.

Prof Soyer will present his work on “Targeted Early Detection of Melanoma Utilising a 3D Teledermatology Network”. The vision for this project is to deliver innovative, efficient and reliable solutions for the early detection of melanoma to optimise patient care and improve health outcomes while minimising overall health care costs. This approach combines melanoma risk assessment including next generation sequencing with innovative surveillance using a cutting edge 3D Teledermatology Network.

Dr Caffery will explore how contemporary medical image management practices and imaging standards can be used in dermatology to gain optimal benefit from imaging.

The forum will be held on Friday 6 October from 11:00am-12:00pm (Qld time) in the Translational Research Institute (TRI) seminar room 2007 at the PA Hospital. A light lunch will follow the forum. All welcome. No registration required. Do not hesitate to circulate the forum details to colleagues who could be interested. For more information, please contact the CRE in Telehealth team.
